In the past couple weeks I’ve been playing around with how I am saving my herbs. Fresh herbs are an important part of cooking that involves almost nothing except a bag and a moist paper towel. My problem is that I am not big on wasting plastic freezer bags that I have to throw away after a couple uses. I have found that it’s best to save in reusable silicone bags, there are plenty of brands on Amazon, including the Stasher bags, which are the best and are worth the investment.

To save your fresh herbs wrap them in a moist paper towel and put in a non-breathable bag like a plastic bag or silicone bag.
Dry Your Herbs
Air dry your herbs by removing any dead or wilted leaves and hang them upside down away from direct sunlight. You can easily hang them by bundling the herbs together with a twist tie or twine. Slowly drying your herbs like this results in the most flavor!
A quicker way to drying your herbs is in a dehydrator which will warm up and air dry your herbs in hours compared to days or weeks.
To store dried herbs keep in jars in their whole form and grind them (or crunch them up) when you are closer to using them.
